Unpacking

Unpacking is a vital part of growing in our Christian walk.

We start out with so much unneeded stuff.

Some good things,
some bad,
all weigh us down.

At first we are too excited about
the journey we are on to notice.

Our Father's aim was
for us to travel light,
to run in such a way as to win.

We are heading to a Place
Who's Builder and Maker
is not of this World.

We are just passing though.

Its one thing to unpack,
but another to pick up more,
as you go...
packing cares and burdens,
or How To Manuals,
 instead of trusting
Who Will, take us to the end...
no luggage needed there.

Sometimes weariness comes,
because of our own choices to
carry containers of cares,
that were never called
for by the Conductor.

Father Help us to set our affections on eternity, as we travel on earth.  Help us to unpack, anything that slows our pace in pursuing YOU.

"Lower your expectation of earth.  This isn't Heaven, so don't expect it to be."~Max Lacudo

One thing, and only one, in this world has eternity stamped upon it. Feelings pass; resolves and thoughts pass; opinions change. What you have done lasts--lasts in you. Through ages, through eternity, what you have done for Christ, that, and only that, you are.~Frederick W. Robertson

What do our heavy hearts prove but that other things are sweeter to us than His will, that we have not attained to the full mastery of our true freedom, the full perception of its power, that our sonship is yet but faintly realized, and its blessedness not yet proved and known? Our consent would turn all our trials into obedience. By consenting we make them out own, and offer them with ourselves again to Him. ~H.E.Manning

"Casting all your cares on Him, for He cares for you."
