Difficulties are God's errands

Difficulties are God's errands; and when we are sent upon them, we should esteem it a proof of God's confidence.
 ~Henry Ward

He leads us beside still waters, but what is our response when the ripples of circumstances come raining down.

The Spirit saves us from selves schemes.

It settles our hearts, on His unmovable Truths and Promises. We learn to not run (especially in our thoughts), but wait.

Difficulty (apart from Christ) will never direct us to die to self, but will be faithful to lead us to a ditch of self-pity. You know you are close to that ditch, when you find yourself waiting on some one else to act first.

Christ will call
us to the cross.

Father, may our hearts always be looking to You, while we are praying for others.  Turn our eye's away from the ditches of self-preservation, but to the LIFE only found in your presence.

The devil can be a treacherous adversary; but in the end the poor fellow, quite against his will, also proves to be one of our best teachers, a real instrument of our sanctification!

"A man's faith in God is really no bigger than his belief that God's grace can dynamically touch the person causing him the most problems." ~Am
