Spirit of Adoption

Have we fully received the "spirit of adoption?"

Many older youth grow weary of God's custodian.

The Law was put into effect as our custodial tutor to bring us to Christ. Those who are not ready to receive the Spirit of Christ and yet no longer want to be under the custodian of the Law, often become "lawless".

They are a law to themselves, doing what is right in their own eyes. In order to do this one must harden the heart against openness to the Spirit and must also begin to sear the conscience from the memory of things learned from the tutor.

I hope we make a complete transition into the Spirit of Adoption. This is the only way to live in God's house for-ever.

No slaves live in His house, only sons who love the Father and delight to do His will. The differnce between sons and slaves is great.

Slaves can be taught right and wrong things from the Law, but sons have the very nature of God.

Only those born of the Spirit can be sons of God. God uses slaves to do His work, but He loves His sons and reveals Himself fully to them.
May we become sons and daughters.

"The further we travel on this pathway to glory the more glorious it becomes, because we are given to understand that every glad surrender of self, which to the young Christian may seem such a morbid and odious thing, is merely a little death, like the tree's "loss" of the dead leaf, in order that a fresh new one may, in God's time, take its place." ~Elizabeth Elloit, A Path Through Suffering.
