I'm sure this had been a thought in Daniel's mind when he prepared to get married to Ashley. Its these thoughts that come to us all when faced with new crossings in our lives. Its easy to focus our eyes on Crossings, rather than the Cross.
Jesus life on earth was
a Father and Son relationship,
and all he needed,
or gave
sprang forth
from that relationship.
Thinking and meditating on this I found myself telling Daniel before he entered into marriage,
“Just be a good son”
and all else will flow. When we seek to be anything outside of this by turning to the position, rather than our purpose being for His Pleasure...we get all messed up. We lose balance, fall and end up in the ditches that bring discouragement. The devils aim is to take us away from the simple devotion of Father/Son ~ Father/daughter.
In the Christian Conservative circles we have walked in we have seen many lose purpose, because they lost focus. Young women, seeking marriage, and understanding more how to bake bread in the kitchen, than what to do when LIFE turns up the heat! God's ovens offer “SELF-cleaning” for all willing to learn of HIM. :) Our daughters and sons need more than hands on training, they need heart transformations!
Our Father is after more than what is served, BUT a heart that has an UPWARD gaze, to the ONE whom the offering is being served.
“Does this please You, Father?”
This walk in Christ calls for a relationship. We have reduced it to things within reach, and wonder why there's no life! Life is found, IN HIM ~ our Heavenly Dad.
Being a Son,
Being His Daughter.
So, my hearts prayer and cry for me, for my son, (and now for my daughter)...who is about to get married...deepen their relationship with YOU, Father.
“God does not have to come and tell me what I must do for Him, He brings me into a relationship with Himself where I hear His call and understand what He wants me to do, and I do it out of sheer love to Him...” ~Oswald Chambers
THANK YOU, DINA!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing this! You don't know how much it blesses my heart.
I love how you said "We have reduced it to things within reach, then wonder why there's no life..." There is so much truth in that! All things hold together in Him.
Keep letting Him flow through you.... your words are such an encouragement.
