There can be a big difference in having information and holding truths that have transformed our lives.
A transforming that gives us courage
to take the next step.
One is much easier because you have it, and it gives a sense of "well-being" without effort. When faith inspires, we do not fear
what is behind us.
There is a vast difference in knowing something, and experiencing Someone intimately.
The difference in holding something means we are learning to labor through the process.
We will not let go until we have learned, all our Father has for us in this lesson. This is how we cultivate faith in the every day things of life.
Every step, is leading us closer.
Theory's or fictional stories always have a set end. They are easily shaped and formed, like Castle Building. Always happy endings.
Learning the value of the Hard, makes Holding on have a deeper meaning. Words carry more weight when few, just as enduring hardship, gives Hope to our Holding. And we can be assured, that people are watching (especially our little ones).
I'd rather see a sermon,
than hear one any day
I'd rather one would walk with me
than merely tell the way
The eye's a better pupil
and more willing than the ear
Fine counsel is confusing,
but an example's always clear
And the best of all the preachers
are the men who live their creeds
For to see good put in action is
what everybody needs
I soon can learn to do it,
if you'll let me see it done
I can watch your hands in action,
but your tongue too fast may run
And the lecture you deliver
may be very wise and true
But I'd rather get my lessons
by observing what you do
For I might misunderstand you,
and the high advice you give
But there is no misunderstanding
how you act and how you live
