Listen in HOPE

Today I read in Isaiah 32 and it felt as if my eyes were opened to see words always there but suddenly underscored as if in bold type.

"listen to my words IN HOPE." vs9

"Make mention for days of a year in grief

WITH HOPE!" vs10.

Isaiah then proceeds to tell of coming devastation - but the key to hearing such a report without despair is listening IN HOPE, hearing WITH HOPE!

PAIN is coming, loss and grief will touch everyone - no one will escape unscathed. Houses will be abandoned for caves, and wild donkeys will roam where the children once played. How can one hear such a word and go on? Only IN HOPE, WITH HOPE, for without hope no one will listen long enough to HEAR THE PROMISE - "UNTIL the Spirit is poured out from on high."

THIS IS THE HOPE within the hard message that we all must listen with. God will devastate our misguided monuments, and disrupt our clever carnivals - to make way for His own UNTIL THE SPIRIT IS POURED OUT FROM ON HIGH!

Once the Spirit is poured out from on high, devastation becomes delight, ruin becomes rejoicing, the wilderness becomes the way of life where everyone who listened in HOPE and heard the hard word WITH HOPE, finds that the work of righteousness is PEACE, the power of righteousness = REST.

Those who listen in HOPE will one day live in the city of peace, and will dwell in eternal riches - after God has cleared away the lying vanities we had embraced - so HEAR the hard word, accept the pain and grief - but LISTEN IN HOPE!
