Bang, and keep on Banging...

When opportunity is on the other side of a door
you can not open...just keep banging.
Help is near, on the other side."
  ~marcus garrity

On the way to grocery store, I stopped by my daughters and happened to arrive about the time Marcus was getting out of bed.  From the other side of his bedroom door I could hear a loud, "NO!"  My daughter smiled at me and said, "He does not want to get up..."  She has learned to let him get up at his own pace.

"I know he is ready, when he bangs on the door."

True readiness is like that sometimes.  Waiting and being still is fine, but there comes a time, when you start "banging"...(ie knocking) Matt. 7:7

Going forward takes courage, especially when you feel you have no reason to get out of bed. Or sleep has made your brain foggy, and you have forgotten about all the adventures that await, on the outside of your room.

For my grand sons, what faces them is a world full of opportunities for growing.

What kind of opportunities?

-running and falling, having fun and having fits (but not for long, if I know their parents;) and learning that love is not always easy – sometimes it comes at a high price.  Life will hold peril... days are filled with risk. But, this is where life is lived to the fullest – if we get out of bed!  We will be hurt, but that does mean we will be harmed – God can make every pain a benefit.  Marcus’ banging to get out gives me courage to step out too.

"Courage is almost a contradiction in terms.  It means a strong desire to live, taking the form of a readiness to die.  G.K.Chesterton

The lions' den was nothing to him. He had rather be with God in the lions' den than out of it without God. Dwight Lyman Moody
