Now, at 23 years old, we take some of our 'first steps' together. It's not new things we have never done before, BUT common things that take more energy than they should.
This happens when we get into Ruts,
of our own making.
How do we make Ruts?
It's an activity that stays in the same place, longer than it should, going no where. It digs a rut deeper.
This day I was determined to go on a walk with her. Guess what?
She did not want to go!
We made it half way in our yard and she was already turning back. So there we are playing tug of war, in our front yard!
I had to make a decision...
"Is this worth it?"
or
"We will do this...press her on,
she will see it is worth it"
(by faith, not feelings:)
Ruts are like this, we either need a "call and carry" from above (like David in Ps. 40), or a good pull of the arm from those near.:)
At our half way point something changed for Anna. Her resistance turned to wonder, and our adventure began.
I'm so thankful that My Heavenly Father will not let me stay in my "ruts". The view outside of them, is amazing, and like Anna, the adventures of 'walking' with Him, will give a new song.
"By perseverance the snail reached the
ark." ~Charles H. Spurgeon.
