The Lord is My Shepherd

Psalms 23

The Lord is my Protector and my Guide

He shows me the way to go.

I do not need anything,

for He Provides everthing for me.

He wants me to enjoy Him

and the things He has provided for me.

So he shows me where the best things and places

are for my spirit.  I am easily frightened and worried.  He gives me His peace and joy.  He refreshes and soothes me with His Holy Spirit.

My soul is dirty and not worthy of Him.  He cleanses it, and then He brings me closer and closer to Him.  The closer I get, the more people around me notice and He is glorified.  Whatever trials I go through, they do not discourage me.  You, Lord, are right by me, leading, gently guiding, and showing me what to do.

He blesses me in front of those who mock and revile me.  He anoints me with His Holy Spirit.  The overflow of my heart is JOY.

Surely, He will continue to bless me and uplift me even to my death.  I will dwell with Him now, and also in Heaven, forever.

Smart Sheep Listen

In the large field we live in, with many dangers lurking in the shadows; we would do good to listen, too.  Our Shepherd offers protection, comfort and the best feeding grounds, not to mention the most important element of all...DIRECTION.  Sheep that usually get lost, are not the ones that are looking up to the Voice, but the ones looking down and around.  It may seem like greener grass is on the other side of the fence, but without the protection of the One who leads us, is it really worth the taste?  O Shepherd of my soul, open my ears to hear You today.  Place a contentment in my heart to feed on only what you have set before me.  Direct me in Your paths.
