Tug, or Tie?

The sons of Adam and the daughters of Eve are more prone “to take” than “to give”. Their inclination is to tug, rather than tie; they learn to bully before they learn to build.

In homes where “tug of war” is a regular contest, children learn several things:

To stand your ground, means another will fall (instead of two walking together in FAITH)

To struggle means strained silent tensions (instead of surrender’s quiet voice of HOPE)

Ropes are made for pulling against (instead of tying together; LOVE is the bond of perfection)

When we become more conscience of how to tie, than to tug, grace will replace the contest that we wage against each other. Marriage is a gift and Love is the bond that ties it together. Each day we have the opportunity to Tug, or Tie.
