Long time ago, when we had chickens, I really enjoyed the eggs. This was all I enjoyed about them, because these birds would always find a way of escape from their pen; making messes everywhere.
I remember when my flower beds were at there peak in beauty one season, and guess where the chickens loved to go?
My flower bed!
I would look out my window, and destruction was abounding! This called for immediate action. One of my older children, who was very resourceful, offered a quick solution, “Why don't we pay the boys a dime a chicken caught and delivered.”
Benjamin did not seem interested at first by the dime per chicken proposition, until we explained that 10 chickens meant one “big” dollar bill. Now Benjamin 's ears perked up. “And if you get 20 of those birds, you have two “big” dollar bills!”

What I thought was interesting in this situation was the greater value Benjamin seem to put on the dollar rather than the 10 dimes. Same value, but different look. This I know had more to do with his own lack of understanding and use of money. Some times we can fall into the same tendency as Benjamin, counting some things more valuable, based on how we relate to them.
How many times, in real life, do we do the same? Like Benjamin, this only shows we lack understanding and experience.
When we begin to understand life, in view of our Heavenly Father's eyes...what we might have thought different, may instead be opportunity! "Father, grant me an understanding heart that sees things as You see them."
