Why is this so? It is because this inner sanctuary where God dwells by His Spirit is too often buried beneath the rubble of our daily business.
Jesus would withdraw for this very reason so He could quiet himself and listen carefully to His Father. Being too busy doing good things is often the first stage of failure. If we are so intent on getting to our destination that we fail to stop for gas, we will realize only too late that we have no power left to finish the journey.
Backsliding begins long before we recognize it. It starts the moment we think we already have enough of the Spirit to forego stopping to RE-FILL!!!
We can't afford NOT TO STOP and listen. Don't be deceived - BUSY does not equal BLESSED.
