Abundance

After a full day, I came in the door and Whitney's first statement surprised me.

“Mom, we did something REALLY dumb.”

“What?”

“We bought barbecue sauce!”

“Yea, that was REALLY dumb!”

And I groaned and smiled at the same time.

She was referring to a dinner that we recently hosted for a large group. The barbecue sauce ran dry.:) We sent some one to buy more, while in our home rested cases of it! A dear friend had purchased it, at a good price, for functions such as this.

How did we miss such abundance!?

Simple.

We needed to slow down and see.

We needed to stop looking so much at our need, and start seeing what was already provided.

Our absence of Abundance,
often comes by
our own lack of awareness
of its presence
with us all along.

Father, make us aware, of all the Grace you have already provided for us this day.

P.s.-Any one in need of barbecue sauce? :-)

P.s.s.-This is a re-post and we are down to three bottles.:-)

"A man can no more take in a supply of grace for the future than he can eat enough for the next six months, or take sufficient air into his lungs at one time to sustain life for a week.  We must draw upon God's boundless store of grace day to day as we need it." ~Dwight L. Moody (emphasis mine)
