Trust His Heart

Here is what has brought the deepest most stable peace in my own life - the faith in the promise that

"I will never leave you nor forsake you."

When I think of God's ability and His promise to be with me always - I am at peace.

That's what David meant when he wrote

"I shall fear no evil for Thou art with me."

When we know, by faith, that God is with us, we will never view the circumstances from the viewpoint of what might go wrong. Instead, we will view all situations from the perspective that God is able to make His grace abound to us in any circumstance.

This faith allowed Daniel to be at peace being lowered into the den of lions.

This faith allowed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to answer the King's threat with "It is not difficult to answer you oh King, our God is able to deliver us from the fire..."

There is a verse in Isaish 26:3 that says "Thou will keep in perfect peace, him whose mind is steadfast - because he is stayed upon Thee."

Let your faith be fully fixed upon God being the GREATEST factor this week. For those who love Him, He causes all things to work together for their good.

He may allow difficulty when He has our training in mind, but He is never on vacation or absent or unconcerned. His purpose is to work the good He has in mind in our lives.

There is a song that I remember that you can think about as you face your surgery this week.

God is too wise to be mistaken
God is too good to be unkind
So when you can't understand
When you can't see His plan
When you can't trace His hand
Trust His heart

Remember God allowed Abraham, Joseph, David, and many others to face great difficulties - and everyone one of them became over comers through them.

(The above was written by Alan, in a note he sent out to a friend.)

There are two ways of getting out of a trial. One is to simply try to get rid of the trial, and be thankful when it is over. The other is to recognize the trial as a challenge from God to claim a larger blessing than we have ever had, and to hail it with delight as an opportunity of obtaining a larger measure of Divine grace. Thus even the adversary becomes an auxiliary, and the things that seem to be against us turn out to be for the furtherance of our way. Surely, this is to be more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
