It’s a good thing to recognize when Fear shows up because he wants to stay for more than a visit.
Let him hang around and get comfortable, and you will find yourself entertaining thoughts that have more to do with saving SELF, than coming to the CROSS.
Perfect love will bring a fuller light, and grant a peace that passes understanding. The battle of Fear, will always start with our thoughts.
We know that the devil comes to steal, kill and destroy and fear is one of his tools that will accomplish all three things.
First it robs us of joy,
then kills pure affections
and then it destroys the
ability to receive
and give love.
Fear can not be in the room where love is being understood and lived out.
Its interesting that Timothy expresses love being related to power and a sound mind.
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power and of love and a sound mind." 2 Tim. 1:7
Abiding IN the love of God will produce power and sound mind; and fear will have no place there. True Love fills the rooms with the fragrance of Christ.
"Fear will always knock on your door. Just don't invite it in for dinner, and for heaven's sake don't offer it a bed for the night. Let's embolden our hearts with a select number of Jesus' "do not fear" statements. Fear may fill our world, but it doesn't have to fill our hearts. The promise of Christ and the intention of this book are simple; we can fear less tomorrow than we do today." ~Max Lucado (Taken from Imagine Your Life Without Fear)
